How long is the shelf life of a relationship or marriage?
The common saying is “seven years of itching”, but a recent survey by a university in the US federal state found that “seven years of itching” is outdated, and fourteen years is an important threshold for couples or couples. In fact, in the United Kingdom, where the divorce rate is increasing (average of 4 divorces per 10 couples), the relationship between husband and wife is generally maintained to about 11 years, which is not far from the 14 years in the United States.
A therapist with 20 years of experience in marriage counseling said that fourteen years is enough to prove that a couple can “same and suffer together.”
Too many couples who have successfully passed through the “fourteen years of itching” have wanted to divorce, but “children, financial problems and a sense of responsibility for marriage” have kept them in family life.
However, some of these people disagreed, thinking that they just “gave peace” just because they didn’t find a better one. A senior divorce lawyer also pointed out that multiple divorcees broke their relationships because of financial conflict.
